You can connect with us at (312) 996-3130 or studentjobs@uic.edu, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Student Employee Requisition Form and HR onboarding process: If you are a NEW student employee (never been employed at UIC before), follow the instructions below. DO NOT physically come to the Student Employment office until you have been instructed to do so.

  1. Email the Student Employee Requisition form (provided by your employer) to studentjobs@uic.edu in order to initiate your HR onboarding process.
  2. Student Employment will reach out to you for further proceedings and schedule an appointment for the completion of the I9 form.  Federal law requires original I9 documentation to be viewed, signed, and authorized in person.
  3. After completion of the HR onboarding process, your employing unit will provide you with your actual start date and timesheet entry directives. Please note that departments do their own hiring, so they decide when, where, and how the available jobs for the academic year will look like.

Important Notice: If you are a current on-campus student employee, and obtaining an additional job, please make your new employing department aware of this.  Current student employees can be processed remotely.

Job Location & Development Program (JLD): Students are encouraged to schedule an individual virtual appointment if they are interested in a review of their resume, cover letter or off-campus part-time job search related questions via email to sle4@uic.edu.
