Community Partners

We’re still here! You can connect with Student Leadership and Civic Engagement by visiting our website, slce.uic.edu, sending us an email, slce@uic.edu, or giving us a call, (312) 996-4500. While everyday life has been altered for all of us, we know that the services provided by our community partners are vital and continue to be needed in this trying time, and we are still encouraging those who are able to get involved, volunteer, and make an impact during COVID-19. SLCE has launched an opportunity page specifically for COVID-19. This page includes immediate needs and opportunities from our community partners related to the pandemic. It can be found at go.uic.edu/covid19-opportunites. If your organization has an immediate need that volunteers can help with in person or from home, please reach out to us and we will include it on this page. Please also update all opportunities on our volunteer platform (Galaxy Digital) to reflect all COVID19 related changes, and/or communicate any new requirements or policies for volunteers. If you have not registered as an agency on Galaxy Digital, please visit our sign up page here, and to learn how to post an opportunity, please visit our website here.

If your organization is looking for volunteers or support related to the ongoing civil unrest and protesting that has been occurring this summer, please know that our volunteer platform also continues to be available as a resource for you to seek volunteers for such purposes. This could include thing like supporting neighborhoods that need additional meal/food donations and deliveries, business clean ups, one-time events and gatherings, mural paintings, and more. Students are looking to get involved in many ways to use their voices at this time, and we’d be happy to promote such opportunities during the summer and fall semester.
