Planning

The Planning function within the Office of Student Affairs Assessment and Planning plays a critical role in advancing student-centered initiatives through two core areas: Project Management and Grant Support. Together, these efforts help operationalize strategic initiatives, enhance resources, and empower programs and services that support student success.

Project management provides structured, time-bound support to help launch unique or cross-functional initiatives that require coordination beyond the scope of a single unit. While the Planning team does not oversee long-term program implementation, we help initiatives get off the ground and transition them to the appropriate Student Affairs unit for sustained management. Examples include the Curricular Approach, Special Project Fellows, the CCAMPIS grant funded by the Department of Education, Program Review Implementation, U&I Care Meals, and U&I Care Roundup.

Grant support complements these efforts by identifying external funding opportunities and collaborating with staff to conceptualize projects, write proposals, and coordinate submissions with campus partners. This work helps bridge resource gaps and expand the division’s capacity to serve students.
