Annual Goals

Each year, the Division of Student Affairs engages in a structured Annual Goals and Outcomes process to support strategic planning, accountability, and continuous improvement. This process ensures that our work remains aligned with the Division’s mission and contributes meaningfully to student learning and success.

At the close of each fiscal year, all Student Affairs departments are asked to submit three to five annual goals for the upcoming year. These goals include specific action items and clear indicators of success, helping teams stay focused and results-driven throughout the year.

In addition to setting new goals, departments provide updates on the progress and outcomes of the previous year’s goals. These updates are a key component of the Division’s Annual Report, offering a transparent look at our collective impact and areas for growth.

The Assessment team plays a vital role in this process by offering constructive, actionable feedback on submitted goals and updates. This feedback often focuses on strengthening outcome statements, clarifying success measures, and aligning goals with broader divisional priorities.

This process is deeply connected to our divisional commitment to student learning and the curricular approach. As departments revise or develop learning outcomes, they can directly link their annual goals to these outcomes within our assessment platform—creating a cohesive, mission-driven strategy for student development.
