Assessment
Assessment
Within the Office of Assessment and Planning, the Assessment function supports the division in continuous improvement efforts through the development of intentional and systematic approaches to assess student learning outcomes and program effectiveness. From designing assessment plans to analyzing results, our team helps units make data-informed decisions that lead to meaningful change.
The work of assessment is grounded in the Division’s mission. Assessment provides the evidence we need to evaluate our impact and guide our future. In Student Affairs, we use assessment to ensure our programs and services are effective, equitable, and aligned with our mission, particularly as we focus on measuring student learning, engagement, and success.
Our office leads several major divisional efforts, including the development of annual goals and outcomes, as well as the comprehensive program review process. These initiatives help ensure that every department is aligned with the Division’s mission and continuously improving to support student learning.
Further, we are committed to growing assessment expertise across the division. Recognizing that assessment is a learnable skill, we offer innovative professional development opportunities, like the assessment workshops and assessment working group, to help staff build the staff and confidence to lead their own assessment efforts.
